PlayPearls

PlayPearls are a software provider, who stream live dealer games from land-based casinos around the world. In this PlayPearls live casino review we’re going to be having a look at some of the games which the developer offer. We’ve reviewed all aspects of the developer’s operation, from the dealers they employ to the quality of their streams – and we’ll begin by taking a look at the casinos which offer their games.

Best PlayPearls Live Dealer Casino

Company Information and History

PlayPearls were established back in 2013, and is based in Malta. Unlike most live casino providers we’ve come across, PlayPearls don’t actually operate their own games. Instead, they partner up with a number of land-based casinos, and stream their games instead. PlayPearls create and manage the software that streams these games – and it’s fair to say it all comes together and works quite well.

Alongside this unique live dealer games approach, PlayPearls have created a number of their own games. This includes Instant Win, Keno and Video Slot games – many of which can be found at the casinos we listed above.

PlayPearls hold a gambling license from the Government of Curacao. While writing this PlayPearls live casino review, we were a bit disappointed to see that they haven’t applied for any licenses from the UKGC or the MGA – but this may well happen in the future.

PlayPearls Live Casino Review: The Games

PlayPearls’ games are streamed from a number of live casino. These include the Portomaso, Fitzwilliam, Oracle and Expo casinos. As part of this PlayPearls live casino review, we wanted to see exactly what games they offered – and you can see these below:

PlayPearls’ Live Roulette

PlayPearls offer two main variations of Roulette; Live Roulette Expo and Live Roulette Penthouse. Both games are near enough identical – with one of the main differences being where the games are actually streamed from. Live Roulette Expo is broadcast from the Expo Casino, while Live Roulette Penthouse is broadcast from the Penthouse Casino. Both sites are located in Dublin, Ireland. (Live Roulette Expo is available to play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Live Roulette Penthouse is available every day between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 UTC.)

The games are also different in that Live Roulette Expo doesn’t use a human dealer – the ball is spun automatically. In Live Roulette Penthouse, there’s a human dealer at all times. Both games offer a variety of betting options, and alongside the main grid you can also choose to place French and Neighbor bets using the Racetrack. There are also detailed game statistics, showing you the results of past game rounds.

PlayPearls’ Live Portomaso Roulette

Live Portomaso Roulette is streamed directly from the Portomaso land-based casino. It’s one of PlayPearls’ most popular live dealer games, and for good reason. The game is a European variant, which means there’s a single zero on the wheel. Players can choose to place bets using the standard Roulette grid or the Racetrack function. There’s also a chat feature, which lets you talk to the dealers directly.

When writing our PlayPearls live casino review articles, we were pleased to find that all their games offer detailed game stats. Live Portomaso Roulette is no exception, and you will find various statistics to the right-hand-side of the screen while playing.

PlayPearls’ Live Super 6 Baccarat

PlayPearls offer one Baccarat game, and it’s a Super 6 variant. This game is streamed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is broadcast from the Fitzwilliam Casino and Card Club in Dublin, Ireland. Like we’ve seen in most of the developer’s live dealer games, the interface is clean and easy-to-navigate. There’s a few betting options available, including the main Player/Banker bets, along with the Tie bet. There’s also a Player/Banker Pair side bet, which is optional.

Look to the top-left-hand-corner of the screen and you’ll see a range of statistics. These show the results for past game rounds. It’s also really easy to select chips and place bets. You can find the chip denominations at the bottom-left-hand-corner of the screen.

Streaming Quality

We spent quite a bit of time testing out the games while constructing this PlayPearls live casino review. We think it’s fair to say their streaming technology is about average. The video and audio streams were in sync with one another, and the games ran relatively smoothly.

However, there’s definitely room for improvement – and we feel the main thing letting them down is the actual quality of the video streams. While the dealers and tables are visible, they don’t display in HD. This is something we’ve come to expect from some of the leading names in live casino games like Evolution Gaming and NetEnt.

Playing Interface and Betting Options

Unfortunately, there’s not much to say about PlayPearls’ live dealer games. The playing interface is simple, and you won’t find many options available to you. In fact, when we were writing this PlayPearls live casino review, we found their games to be one of the most dated-looking we came across.

There is no lobby area – instead, games are accessed directly from the casino you’re playing at. Once inside the game you’ll see your chip denominations at the bottom of the screen, and to the right-hand-side there’s a couple of game settings. To be fair, the interface is pretty easy-to-use and uncomplicated – we just feel as though the developer could have done a bit more when it came to designing the graphics.

Depending on the casino you’re playing at, PlayPearls’ games can be played from as little as 2.5 credits per hand and as much as 2,500. Operators can choose to increase the maximum betting limit if they want.

Languages Offered

All of PlayPearls’ games are hosted by English-speaking dealers. They don’t appear to offer any games in other languages. Thankfully, the game interfaces are available in different languages. However, it’s down to the operator to choose which (if any) alternate languages they want to offer players. It’s fair to say that PlayPearls are targeting English-speaking markets, and their product reflects as such.

PlayPearls Live Mobile Casino Review

All of PlayPearls’ games are built using HTML5, so you’ll be able to play them from iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices. Unlike some providers, you can play in both landscape and portrait mode from a mobile device, and the games automatically resize to best fit your screen. In fact, the only real difference between the desktop and mobile games, is that – on mobile – the various icons on screen have been made smaller and rearranged slightly.

PlayPearls’ Live Dealers

We’re always excited to see how friendly and welcoming dealers are – and that was no exception when we were writing this PlayPearls live casino review. We found the dealers to be professional, courteous and well-trained. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to be overly talkative – though we may have just caught the dealers on a bad day.

PlayPearls use male and female dealers, and they’re all dressed well, in glamorous dresses or crisp shirts and trousers.

PlayPearls Live Casino Review: Our Thoughts

While we like the live casino product PlayPearls have built, we do have a few issues with them. First of all is a small selection of games. If PlayPearls want to expand and enter new markets, they’ll definitely want to consider adding new games to their software.

We also found the games to be a bit dull. While the dealers were friendly and welcoming, beyond that they didn’t have much to offer – and they don’t seem to engage with players much. PlayPearls also don’t (currently) hold gambling licenses in major jurisdictions, meaning their games are found at only Asian or Curacao-licensed sites. Not the end of the world, but again – they’ll struggle to expand without stronger gaming licenses.

It’s not all bad news though – and when writing our PlayPearls live casino review we did pick up on the fact that their video streams are pretty high-quality. Provided your connection speed is average or above you shouldn’t experience any buffering while playing. If you’d like to give PlayPearls’ games a go for yourself, you’ll find their software offered at the online casinos shown below.
