Opus Gaming

Opus Gaming are an Asian-based online gambling developer, offering a range of games to operators and players. Along with a comprehensive live casino product, Opus Gaming offer sports betting facilities, video slots and Keno. It’s worth noting, however, that live casino games are their speciality, and this is where the majority of their efforts are directed.

One of the first live dealer games providers to target Chinese players, Opus Gaming have since expanded to other Asian markets – and in this Opus Gaming live casino review, we’re going to cover all the games they offer, along with dissecting all parts of their live casino operation. Let’s begin by taking a look at who Opus Gaming are, and how they entered the online gambling industry.

Best Opus Gaming Live Dealer Casino

Company Information and History

Opus Gaming was founded in 2009, and there’s a reason that many European players probably haven’t heard of them; they exclusively target the Asian gambling markets. (Since this review was first published, Opus Gaming have started to push their games to some European markets, although the success of this remains to be seen.) As Opus Gaming has grown, they’ve started working with other game developers. Some of their gaming partners now include GamesOS, Habanero, Pragmatic Play, iSoftBet, Microgaming and Genesis Gaming.

Opus Gaming hold a couple of gambling licenses. The first is from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). This license allows them to actually operate the live casino studios, which are based in the Philippines. They also hold a gambling license from the Government of Curacao, which allows them to offer games to non-Asian facing casinos.

When it comes to independently verifying the fairness of their games, Opus Gaming use iTech Labs – a well-known 3rd-party testing house.

Opus Gaming Live Casino Review: The Games

Opus Gaming offer a variety of Western and Asian live dealer games. As part of this Opus Gaming live casino review, we wanted to put them all to the test – and you can find out all about the various games they offer below.

Opus Gaming’s Live Baccarat

Opus Gaming’s live Baccarat is a fairly standard variation of the game, offering a number of different betting options. Players can wager on the Player/Banker and the Tie bet. Unfortunately, like all the developer’s live dealer games, the camera positioning isn’t great, and it can be hard at times to make our the cards on the table. Thankfully, the cards are displayed electronically – but it does take away from the experience a bit.

Opus Gaming’s Live Dragon Tiger

Dragon Tiger is a popular Asian game which stems from Baccarat. In Dragon Tiger, players simply bet on either the Dragon or the Tiger hand. One card is dealt to each hand, and the highest card value wins – it’s incredibly simple. In Opus Gaming’s Dragon Tiger, there’s a couple of betting options available, and you’ll also be able to view the results of past games.

Opus Gaming’s Live Baccarat No Commission

Opus Gaming’s live Baccarat no commission is played using standard Baccarat rules. The table is capable of seating an unlimited number of players (thanks to the “Bet Behind” feature.) There’s also full Roadmaps available along with all regular betting options. A breakdown of the game’s statistics can be found on the right-hand-side of the screen. This allows you to view the results of past game rounds.

When writing this Opus Gaming live casino review we found their live Baccarat offered at all online casinos using the provider’s software.

Opus Gaming’s Live Roulette

Opus Gaming offer European Roulette, meaning the wheel contains a single zero. The game’s relatively basic, but you’d find all of the normal betting options available. You can also place French and Neighbor bets using the Racetrack view. Detailed results of past rounds can also be found on the right-hand-side of the screen.

Opus Gaming’s Live Sic Bo

We were pleased to see the provider now offer Sic Bo. It was actually released mid-way through writing this Opus Gaming live casino review. Like all of the developer’s games, it’s built to a really high quality and it’s exceptionally easy to play.

The game uses a total of three dice, and there’s over 50 different bet options available. Detailed game statistics and history is available too, so you can see how the table’s been playing before you joined.

Streaming Quality

Opus Gaming have invested a lot of time (and money) into their streaming technologies, and it shows. The games stream perfectly, and provided your internet connection is semi-reliable you shouldn’t experience any lag, freezing, or ‘glitching’. Of course, the occasionally disconnection is going to happen every once in a while, but overall we were quite impressed with the quality of their streams, and don’t have any major complaints.

Playing Interface and Betting Options

One of the major things that stood out to us when writing this Opus Gaming live casino review was the look and feel of the games themselves. Unfortunately, the provider has opted to use quite a dated design – and it shows. The games look as though they’d fit in 10 years ago – but today, with so many high-tech solutions out there, they just look a bit lame.

Thankfully, this doesn’t take away from the playing experience, but it’s definitely something you’ll notice when you load up their games. Another negative, was the lack of a live chat option. This means you’ll be unable to chat to the dealers while playing. Again – it’s not a huge issue, but it does take away from the playing experience.

One positive, is the multi-table functionality. This allows you to play up to three games simultaneously from within one game window. Surprisingly, the quality appears to remain high even when playing three games at once – so this is definitely something that surprised us.

When it comes to the table limits – well, this varies greatly depending on the operator. While writing this Opus Gaming live casino review, we looked at a number of sites offering the provider’s games – and from what we could see, it looks like you can play their games from between 1 and 1,000 credits. Of course, the operators can likely change this. Chip denominations are available from as little as 0.25 and as much as 500 credits.

Languages Offered

It’s somewhat of a common trait amongst Asian live casino providers that the dealers don’t actually talk during the games. Opus Gaming are no exception to the rule, and you won’t find yourself able to interact (or chat) with the dealers at all. This offers… an interesting environment… but it seems to go down well with players. The actual graphical interface offers 7 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Tieng Viet, Bahasa, and Khmer.

Opus Gaming Live Mobile Casino Review

Like most providers, Opus Gaming have optimised their live dealer games for both desktop and mobile devices. Android, iOS and Windows mobile users will be able to run the games in both portrait and landscape mode. We like the fact that the developer has managed to cram so much in to their mobile games. Regardless of whether you play in portrait or landscape, the games run smoothly, and the betting options are easily accessed too.

While writing this Opus Gaming live casino review we spent a fair bit of time testing their games from mobile devices. We found that they run smoothly and without too much lag – though it’s not perfect.

Opus Gaming’s Live Dealers

Opus Gaming employ female dealers only – and it’s fair to say the company are targeting a, ahem, male player demographic. The dealers are all glamorously dressed, and – in Opus Gaming’s words – sexy. We can’t disagree, that’s for sure! All dealers are professionally trained, and try to offer players the “most exciting gaming experience”. Opus Gaming have also added a section to their website where you can get to know more about the dealers, and ‘view more of their photos’. Kind of creepy, but also kind of cool!

Opus Gaming Live Casino Review: Our Thoughts

While they’re far from being a leading name in the live iGaming industry Opus Gaming have built a good product. They offer a decent selection of Asian games, and we like the Multi Table feature which lets you play up to three tables at once.

Another thing we came across when writing this Opus Gaming live casino review was their “Virtual Studio Tour”. This gives you a behind the scenes look at their gaming studio. You can watch the video on YouTube by clicking here.

Aside from a slightly cluttered interface and the silent dealers, Opus Gaming offer a decent live casino. You’ll find their software used at all of the online casinos listed below. If you’d like to play for yourself, just choose your preferred casino and click the link to join up.
